Hosted by our friends at Boom Chicago, the Blue Tulip Awards Finals will kick off live at 09:30. We will then break up into two parallel tracks, in which the Finalists will give their ultimate pitch. For detailed timing per theme, check the timeline below. We will wrap up the pitch rounds around 15:45 and look forward to the live winner announcement online at RTL Z.

What is the location of the Finals?

The Finals will be a fully digital set-up, so there is no physical location.

What is the program of the day?

The Blue Tulip Awards Finals will kick-off with a plenary opening at 09:30. Afterwards, it will break into two parallel tracks, in which the Finalists will give their ultimate pitch followed by in-dept Q&A sessions to convince the jury members why they should be crowned 2020 winner. Every theme will have their own theme-specific time slot. The theme-specific pitch rounds will end at 15:30 with a plenary closing.

The winners announcement will take place on at the online RTL Z website from 19:00 till 20:30.

How can I join the Finals?

The Finals will be held in a fully digital set-up.

If you are a jury member or finalist innovation, you will receive an email with instructions on how to access the digital Finals.

If you are not a jury member or finalist innovation, you can digitally join the plenary opening, the eight theme-specific pitches rounds and the winner announcement with RTL Z. On June 11, you will be able to access both the theme-specific pitch rounds [09:30 - 15:45] and the winner announcement with RTL Z [19:00 - 20:30] from this page.

How will the eight theme winners be selected?

Our esteemed jury will be having an in-depth jury discussion to choose winners based on predefined criteria. The winner announcement will be livestreamed at 19:00, online with RTL Z. More information on how to join will follow soon.

As a Blue Tulip Awards 2020 Finalist, what will I experience during my theme’s session?

The Blue Tulip Awards Finals will kick-off with a plenary opening at 09:30. Afterwards, it will break up in two parallel tracks, in which the themes will have their own Live Pitch Sessions at a theme-specific time slot. Everyone is welcome to join and watch any session for inspiration, if it doesn’t interfere with their own theme’s session. The Finals program will end at 15:30 with a plenary closing. The winners will be announced in a livestream on the website of RTL Z between 19:00 and 20:30. A compilation of the winner announcement will be broadcasted on television.

As a Blue Tulip Awards 2020 Finalist, can I join other sessions than my theme’s?

You are more than welcome to join other sessions, as long as it does not clash with your theme’s Finals program.

As a Blue Tulip Awards 2020 Finalist, how can I prepare for the event?

There are several steps to best prepare for the Finals. Firstly, all finalists are invited to join the Pitch Perfect Online Workshop on May 20 to receive valuable information on pitching techniques and to refine your pitch for the big day. This workshop is especially catered to the digital circumstances and will assist you as our finalist with adapting your pitch to a digital environment. You will also get the opportunity to connect with your mentor in a one-on-one meeting in a digital setting to discuss the aspects of their innovation as well as receive further guidance and advice. After this 1:1 mentor session, you will be able to reflect on the feedback and tips received to finetune your pitch one final time before the big day.

As a Blue Tulip Awards 2020 Finalist, what if I am not able to join the digital Finals?

One of the representatives of your innovation can join digitally in your place. If that is not an option for you, you will unfortunately be disqualified as participation is mandatory according to the terms and conditions of the program.

What will the winners win?

The award-winners get a variety of services and products offered by partners of the Blue Tulip Awards.

QUARTERFINALS

On February 13, we invited the Top 25 innovators per theme to the Quarterfinals. Innovators had to sway the jury’s hearts in intense speed-dating sessions, after which the jury chose the Top 10 innovations per theme. During the Quarterfinals, the innovations could also exchange experience and knowledge with our partners at the Innovation Café.
